Mr. Kegley was first married to Miss Kate Cater, and to this union were born a son and a daughter, Clay and Vineta (Mrs. C. R. Johnson). His wife died in 1889. Thenin 1891 he was married to Miss Julia Thompson of Kentucky. Oneson, Kenneth, was born to them. He was again left alone with a small babe in 1894. On Sept. 29, 1895, he was married to Miss Mintie Porter, of Elliott Co., Kentucky. Five children were born of this union, Minnie ((Mrs. Paul Willson), Goebel; Ola (Mrs. Lewis O. Jones); Sem and Graham. In 1911, he “was again left with small children to care for. He was both father and mother to his eight children for many years. The eight children survive him; twenty-three grand children, and four great - grand-children. Two grand children preceded him in j death. For many years he was known to the friends and playmates of his children and grandchildren as “Gaggy” and as “Gaggy” he was loved and honored. He was a familiar figure with his flowing white beard, on his horse “Bill” as he rode j over the countryside. He rode horseback until a few months before his death.Funeral services were held for him at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lewis 0. Jones in Temple, at four o’clock, May 12. Rev.
