I'mer resort.Manager Pettingill lias sent out hundreds of invitations to a private opening of the Steeplechase tomorrow evening, and Friday noon the doors will be thrown open to the general public. Although the establishment met with such phenomenal success last season, despite the remarkably cold and rainy summer, the management has been busy during the winter months preparing additional amusements for the happy throngs that are bound to go to the Steeplechase this season. The principal opening attraction will be the startling performance of I’llven, the famous performer, who will slide by his teeth down a wire suspended from the highest peak of the big pavilion. 150 feet in midair. This will take place every afternoon and evening until further announcement, provided the daring performer is not killed or maimed in his work. This attraction is free to all in the Steeplechase. The Steeplechase course, with its fast but safe horses, will prove a fascinating pastime for men, women and children this year as ever.
