MAGICIANS TO DISPLAY THEIR TALENTS..Three .Public Performances Will Be Given.Three public performances by professional magicians will feature the tenth annual conference of the Society of American Magicians, opening Friday at the Netherland Plaza. The meeting will close Sunday.Friday will be rigistration day. but the program also includes inspection of dealer displays and a tour of the United States Playing Card Company plant, followed at 8 p. m. by a welcome party at the hotel,A children’s magic show, open to the public, will be given Saturday at 10 a. m. in the Masonic Temple. At 8 p. m.. another public performance. to be opened by Mayor James O. Stewart, will be given in the hotel. The closing event on the day’* program will be Nocturnal Necromancy” at 10:30 p. m.The delegates will visit the Art Museum Sunday lit 10 a. m. to view a display of historical playing cards, and rare books on magic from the H. Adrain Smith collection.A National Council meeting will be held at 3 p. m. at the hotel, followed by the annual banquet at 6 p. m. The third public performance will be given Sunday at 8 p. m. in the Hall of Mirrors.Queen City Mystic Assembly No. 11 will be the convention host. Stewart Judah is president and John Braun secretary. Other members of the local chapter aiding in arrangements are Lyman H. Allen Jr., ticket sales; Alvin R. Plough, publicity; Rudy Lenxer, special entertainment, and Bert Gang, banquet.The professional shows will be directed by H. Adrian Smith, Providence. R. 1.
