Amateur Horse Stealing Just tor Fun Growing Common.POLICE HAVE GOOD CLUE.Daniel Kersefiner’s Horse arid Din Taken From Hark and DrivenHard—Found North of City.Daniel Kerschner, who lives a mile and a half north of the city, came to the Christian church, last, night, to attend the entertainment given there, and after the performance was over, which was a little before ten o’clock, he went to get his horse and found it gone. It had been I hitched with a wide, leather halter! which went around it’s neck and through the bridle ring, fastening with a strong snap. The halter hadbeen removed from the horse’s neck and was still tied to the rack, showing beyond all doubt, that it had not released itself. Mr. Kerschner notified the police, and hired a livery rig in which he drove all through the city without finding his property. Later, he took the road leading tip to the park, and, about midnight, found his horse and carriage loose In the road, about a mile north of the park. The horse showed tlmt it had been driven hard and was slowly walking southward. Excepting that it was tired the animal was not injured.“I think we will have an item for you pretty soon, and that the grand jury will have an extra job,” remarked a policeman this afternoon.
