The prom theme was “Serenade in Jade.” Our first prom was a night to be remembered.SeniorsOne hundred thirty-five students started the year as seniors.Bill Outhouse, elected last year as vice-president of the student council, served this year as student body president.Class officers were Jim Phillips, president, Roger Beck, vice-president, Sherran Hower, secretary, and Helen Cox, treasurer.Homecoming theme for ourDuring the year the governing body was kept busy with various projects. The first major project was choosing the basketball cheerleaders. Five girls were chosen to lead the cheers. They were Karen Kelley, Karen McDonald, Sandy Smith, Sandra Herzog, and Ren-ness Tucker.In the fall the Board conducted the college Work-Day. Virtually every student took part by washing windows and cars, babysitting, cleaning houses, hauling trash, and doing other chores. Work-Day was a big success, and about $400 wasearned. ...... ■'*• *The next project was the winter formal. The formal par-ty committee was in charge of this activity. Various committees were chosen to carry out the work for this party. The chairmen were Karen Dugger,detention system went into effect, too. Previously, students that were tardy went without penalty.
