A Country Party,One of the most favored brides of the season Is Miss Emella Hockemeyer, of Gar Creek, who was given a linen shower on Sunday afternoon at the home of her sister, Mrs. Henry Hermann, of New Haven. The young ladies were all seated in the roomwhen Miss Hockemeyer appeared and she was completely surprised when linen gifts were flung thickly at her. Miss Hockemeyer is an attractive young woman who is soon to be married to Henry Hermann, a prosperous and well respected young man of Gar Creek. The rooms were beautiful with ferns and pretty spring flowers and the bride’s chair was decorated in red, yellow and white. An elaborate supper was served by the hostess, assisted by Mrs. John Wagner and Miss Sophia Hermann. The guests who participated in the event were the Misses Anna and Leona Hockemeyer, Christina Busse.and Emma Ehle, of Fort Wayne; Miss Swain, Anna Werling, Mary Bremer, Emma Hermann, Anna Bremer. Luella Hermann and Mrs. Bremer and the Messrs. August Schuckman and Edwin Moeller, of Fort Wayne, Henry Hermann, August Hookemeyer, Herman Myers, John Wagner and Henry Hermann. Games were the features of the evening and several musical selections were rendered by Miss Emella and August Hockemeyer.
