Selsby Blue met with what might have been a serious accident. While returning from Defiance with one of the Smith stallions, the horse managed to get away with him and run about two miles with the cart attached to him. Blue became frightened and jumped off of the cart and let the horse go. Lucky there were 110 other teams on the road at that time, or they would have been a rough time for some one, and perhaps some one killed or crippled.
