oooGrand Opening ForGolden Spur’ WillBe Held SaturdayA grand opening is scheduled Saturday, May 20 for Afton’s new modem cafe, the “Golden Spur,” recently completed by Mr. Otto Stephens. Although the cafe has been operating since last Sunday, the grand opening will nevertheless be an event to formally introduce this fine eating place to the public.250 orchids will be given away by the management to all ladies who eat there, starting at 1 p. m. until all are gone.The Golden Spur is being operated by Mr. Young S. Hong, and his assistants, Henry Louie and Charley Hong, professional Chinese cooks. Chinese and American dishes are featured at prices that are “in line”, as can be evidenced by a sample menu elsewhere in this paper.Mr. Stephens welcomes everyone to come in and see the place, and enjoy the fine food.
