It was thus that she made her debut as a star of the cinema world. No matter what dramatic ability Miss Kellerman may possess, her animated likeness in the nine reels of “Neptune’s Daughter” discloses that she is primarily a swimmer. Whether on the surface of a mountain wave or under water, as she was much of the time, she was equally at ease. She played with tame fish as the average man does with his pet collie.The fairy story told to a nursery tot for the first time was never more interesting that “Neptune’s Daughter” to the hundreds of adults who flocked see her yesterday. At times the line of waiting patrons extended out into Michigan boulevard.Mechanical defects have practically been eliminated, and every scene vividly portrays the tropic sunshine of Bermuda, where the picture was taken.The first several reels of “Neptune’s Daughter” show the long-haired sovereign of the sea reigniug over his kingdom of mermaids and fishes. Annette Is his favorite daughter. One day the fishermen catch Annette’s little sister in theirnets and drag her up on the shore, where she is left iu a mass of sea weed. She suffocates, and to avenge her sister's death Annette deterimnes to enter the world of the mortals. She is aided in her plan by an old sea witch, who gives her a magic shell. When this is rubbed by the owner, he or she becomes a human being.How Annette becomes a beautiful maid, meets the king of the island, gains his love and in turn gives him her heart; how she rescues him from the schemes of plotters against the throne and eventually becomes his wife and queen and “lives happily ever after” is set forth in the subsequent reels.Trustee Sonsteby Opens Fight Against Compelling Pupils to Buy Tickets, Trees, Candy.Trustee John J.
