An attempt was madeto get in at Randolph Slifer’s, butthey failed. The home of NeilBisner was visited and in raisinga window of their sleeping room,Mrs. Bisner awoke and gave thealarm. Mr. B. got up and wentoutside, but could see no oneHe searched about for an hour,going about the streets and alleysand finally came up town and finding the night watch they wentabout together, but could not gettrace of anyone. The thieveswere at Bisner’s about 1 o’clock.Neil says he is far more concerned about the house-breakers than he is about small-pox, and such is probably the case with many others.
