Jaycees Have Signed Contract With Outstanding Rodeo OutfitMcFarland of Weatherford to Stage Rodeo Which Will Be Open to the World.A contract was closed a few days ago between the San Saba Jaycee Rodeo Committee, headed by Bernie Hart, Burrell Park and Jim P. Kelly, and J, P. McFarland of Weatherford, Texas, whereby McFarland's top-rank Rodeo Show will be presented at Rogan Field, San Saba, June 20, 21 and 22.This show will be given here in every detail as it was at McGregor, Belton and other cities and carrieswith it some of the best rodeo animals to be found in the Southwest, Mr. Hart states. Among them are 30 head of genuine bucking horses, 15 Brahma riding steel's, 10 bull-dogging steers, 30 roping calves, clowns, trick animals, etc.“The show will be wide open to the world ,in the contests,” Mr. Hart states, “and in addition to the professional riders there will be a speeial amateur contest for San Saba County talent,” he added.“This year we will have six or eight chutes instead of- three we had last year and we will be able to handle the stock in a better and faster manner. There will be the ladies' Flag Races and other special attractions of interest to rodeo fans and we believe that we will have a better rodeo even than that of last year.”There will be good purses in the various contests and the be3t cowboy talent in the Southwest are expected to participate.One of the finest and most colorful parades in the history of San Saba will precede the rodeo and plans are going forward for that constantly.The Rodeo Committee wishes to warn San Saba business firms against cooperating with any out-of-town advertising stuntB in connection with the rodeo, Mr. Hart said.May 9th, 1 car of 60 stocker cattle from J. C. Buckmaster billed to Deep River, Iowa; 2 cars of 110 stocker cattle by C. C. Bledsoe billed to Kansas City.May. 12, 2 doable deck cars of sheep from Pudsack Bros, billed to Ellinwood, Kan.May 14, nine double deck ears of 2626 sheep from Dr. Wimberly billed to Argentine, Kan.; 4 cars of 1041 sheep by Bishop Stevens from Roy Bagley to Fort Worth; 1 car of stocker cattle from Johnnie Martin billed to Paris, Mo.uuisii cnurcn tne aiternoon ana evening of Thursday, June 6th. Prices of admission will be 25 cents for adults and 15 cents for children. In addition to the exhibits there will be a lecture in the afternoon and evening on the subject of hobbies by the pastor, the Rev. George J. Steinman, who has received considerable recognition in this field and has recently written two articles; on the subject at the request of editors of two nation-wide Methodist journals.
