Repairs Needed At Jones WharfPortland W—The State Public Utilities Commission has set adeadline of May 26 for closing Jones Wharf on Peaks Island unless emergency repairs are started.A spokesman said Thursday the warning went to Casco Bay Lines which operates ferry service to islands in the bay off Portland.He said inspection April 9 indicated dangerous conditions at Jones Wharf, which needs cross timber and stone repairs.Closing of the wharf would hit the island just as the usual summer business was to start.
