ICITIES SERVICEPLANS BIG LINFirm Aiks FCC for AuthoriTo Extend Facilities inKansas AreaFormal application for authori to begin construction of a new 2 inch natural gas pipe line exten ing 405 miles from the Kansas po tion of the Hugoton gas field Kansas City, Mo., has been tran mitted to the Federal Power con mission by Cities Service Gas con pany, it was announced today.In addition to new facilitn which will be added to the con pany's system and which induegatheiing lines, compressor ststions, a dehydration plant and otl er equipment items, permission i also sought for substantial addtions to the existing pipe line systern.'lhe application contemplates a construction program over a four-year period, beginning in 1947, and reveals that the total ultimate co«t of the proposed pipe line and related facilities plus additions to the existing pipe line system will be approximately $30,000,000.Principal initial facilities whiclthe company proposes to build anlt; for which it is asking a certificate of public convenience and necessityare the following:1. Approximately 405 miles o 26-inch natural gas pipe line ex tending from a proposed compres sor station in the Kansas portior of the Hugoton field to Kansas City, Mo.2. A 12,000-horsepower com pressor station and a dehydratior plant located at the end of the proposed pipe line in the Hugotor field.3. A telephone line and communication facilities connecting thenew' compressor station and the company’s present Straight station located near Guymon, Okla4. Approximately 33.5 miles of 16-inch pipe line loop from the Cotton Valley measuting station in Washington county, Oklahoma, to a point on the existing Quapaw 16-inch line in Craig county, Oklahoma.5. A 1,610 horsepower compressor station at Hund Junction in Leavenworth county, Kansas.6. An addition of 230-horsepow-ir to the Lyons, Kas., compressor ilant in liice county.In the application for federal au-bority the company has said itroposes to begin construction of hese facilities on or about April , 1047, and that completion is an-icipated by October 1, 1947.
