Butcoordination services for all arts plications to foster education,what exactly does the Council do, The Greater Sitka Arts Council,Inc. is an organization dedicated to the promotion of all arts in Sitka Membership includes representatives from local arts organizations, businesses, and educational institutions as well asindividuals who support the arts. Some of the activities the Artsgroups through a monthly newsletter, biweekly arts calendar published by the Sitka Sentinel, and press releases channeling arts information to the community.Provided many other servicesto the community such asworkshops on Arts Management, art for children, and film making. spearheaded the scholarship fund drive for Sitka students to attend the SoutheastCouncil has been involved with Alaska Regional Fine Artsthis year are:Spearheaded the Fine Arts Committee which is attempting to help plan and raise funds for a new intercultural fine arts andCamp provided a special note of welcome to the participants of the Native Arts and LiteratureConference bytheatre facility; and the Committee for FUR!, a group working on a theatrical production of Sitka’s Russian and Native history to be presented in Sitka summer of ‘77.organizinghousing, get-acquainted coffee hours, and a large potluck dinner; sponsor of the Long Island Youth Symphony coming in June; and the Action Auction, aActed as instigator in application and receipt of monies for two Art in Public Placesprojects, one for the new City Municipal Building and the other for the new Sitka Community College Building.Provided communication andfund and fun raising activity to provide the Arts Council with monies for next year’s activities.What do we have in mind for next year?
