8th-Crade Party Held at Perry Country ClubA highlight of the season foi the 8th-Grade graduating class of Ann Whitney Elementary School was a semi-formal party held at the Perry Country Club Friday, May 15, from 7:3C to 10:30 p.m.Hostesses were Pam Gautier Karen Keeney, Sheila Harrison, Donna Riley, Nancy Adams, Denise Willis. Brenda Edmunds, Jeanie Gilbreath, Roger Miller. Brooks Busby, Drew Campbell, Mike Leeth, Dan Wilkerson and their parents.The club rooms were attractively decorated with pastel spring colors of pink, blue, yellow and green balloons and crepe paper streamers forming a low ceiling and hanging from the beams. Straw hats filled with multicolored spring flowers also hung from the beams.The mantle was decorated with greenery and yucca and held five candles in brown holders. At the east end of the ballroom was a spot-lighted maypole with pink, blue, yellow and green streamers.The party tables were covered with pastel taffeta cloths and centered with hurricane lamps and straw hats filledvith English ivy.The serving table was cover'd with chartruse nylon chif-,'on and centered with candelabra flanked by a miniature maypole on one side and a wise old owl wearing a morter-board on the other side.Silver and crystal appointments were used.Pastel colored sandwiches,cookies, party mix and fruit punch were served.
