The club will be evaluated at the meeting.CENTRAL EHU will meet 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the home of Dorothy Wintermantel. The lesson will be “Women on Wheels.”HAPPY DAYS EHU will meet 7:30 p.m. Monday at the home of Thelma Hehn. Glenna Felts, county extension home economist, will give a program about a trip to Alaska.PALMYRA 4-H Club met May 3 at the Masonic Temple. Because it was junior officers’ night, Luke Ulrich, junior president, called the meeting to order.Nicholas Moreau, junior secretary, called the roll and read the minutes of the last meeting. He also read a “thank you” note from Martha Wright.• Debbie Friberg gave the treasurer’s report. Community Leader Claudia Guthrie reminded members of important dates, deadlines and events and presented a get-well card for members to sign for Martha Wright, co-community leader, who has had back surgery.The Palmyra club will send three members and one leader to the memorial service for Alfred Bromelsick on May 20.The Parents Committee will meet Wednesday at the home of Jim Taul to complete plans for the June picnic meeting. They will notify members of the time and place.Junior Vice President Jered Stone announced the program for the evening. Victor Rader gave aClub newsproject talk about rocketry and showed some of his rockets. Tina Francq demonstrated making a table centerpiece and Will Henderson showed slides of his recent trip to Vienna, Austria. Christy Gilges gave the current event, about the space shuttle.Jim Friberg and Kim Schultz, along with adult sponsor Nancy Friberg, gave a slide presentation about their Citizenship Washington Focus trip to Washington, D.C., last summer.After the meeting, junior recreation leader Lori Brown led members in a balloon relay game.LONE STAR 4-H Club met May 8 at Wakarusa Valley School. The program was presented by Andrea Vieux, Stephen Russell, Brenna Russell, Missy Sutton and Brandie Rice. Hosts were the Heeb, Anderson and Baldwin families.CLINTON EHU met Tuesday at the home of Leolh Murray. Glenna Felts, county extension home economist, showed slides and talked about Alaska.Linda Tannehiil, new county home economist, was a guest.Members turned in work completed at home on a Lawrence School District 497 health project “Growing Healthy.” They had started the work at the April meeting.KAW VALLEY EHU will meet 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the home of Jaunita Bailey, Rt. 2. The hostess will give the lesson, “Food Ways to Heart Health.” Dorothy Davis will give a short talk about cultural arts.FIVE AND 50 EHU will meet 1:30 p.m. Monday at the home ofLaurene Sheard, 2107 Leamard.The lesson will be about graduation memories.OAK RIDGE EHU will meet 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the home of Debbie Nunemaker, Rt. 4. Nancy Helmstadter will give the lesson, “Family Keepsakes.” Members should bring an heirloom to the meeting.
