In 1932 while still a youngster she became a member of the Cotton Tavern Trio with Joe Hathaway on tenor sax and McKeeverSpriggs on drums. Meanwhile she was getting her education at St. Phillips Junior College in San Antonio, Texas.Camille met Roy Milton soon after she arrived in California fromher home in Galveston, Texas. Theassociation has been a happy and prosperous one for both. It was in 1939 when with Hosea Sapp, former Louis Armstrong, trumpetman, they formed a trio which has grown to the present group.Fast rising to the top as one of the nations top ladies of piano and song, Camille has to her credit such famous tunes, composed by her, as“X-Temporaneous Boogie,” “Camille’s Boogie,” “Groovey Blues,” “Thrill Me,” and the current juke box favorite, “You Don’t Love Me.” She will appear at Riverside Park, Thursday, May 19, with Roy Milton's “Salad Senders.”WILL APPEAR HERE
