She was the daugh-ter-in-law of Mr. John Hillard who lives here.Mrs. Henry Obenniller and little daughter, Verda, spent last week with Mr. and Mrs. Paul Jesse at Bartlett.Mrs. Lou Holcomb spent several days last week with her daughter, Mrs. J. C. Varnell of Dog Ridge.Mr. and Mrs. I. V'. Hillard and little daughter, Iris, of Valley Mills, were recent visitors in the home of Mr. John Hillard and family.Mrs. Fuller, who lives at the Bell Floral greenhouses ,is improved after a recent illness.Mrs. C. Misses Bennaand Winnie Pedigo, and Mrs. Lou Holcomb visited in the home of Mr.and Mrs. Paul Jesse at Bartlett last week.While two young lady artists were painting picture of the local blue-bonnet field recently, one of the young ladies had a good joke played on her. The two artists were stationed at different places, and one young lady went over where the other was to speak to her. On returning to her own picture, she discovered that a calf had just finished licking all the paint from her canvass.Last year the farmers complained of too much dry weather.
