* COLORED FOREST MENISSUE SPORT CHALLENGEA number of the members of the colored federal forest army located at Straights, near Clermont, visited the latter town on Sunday,They issued a challenge for citizens of Clermont to form a baseball team and compete with a nine representing the camp.The colored spokesman for the Civilian Conservation- Corps stated that the large membership of the camp could provideteam to engage In most any kind of outdoor pastime and were anxious to do so, whereupon one huge ebony rookie exclaimed, “Yowzah, let's we* uns get out dem bones and have a iir contest on de dliamond yere!In view of the fact that Clermont haa been hard-bit by the depression, citizens naturally declined to engage in a friendly game of African golf with the delegation, Which appeared altogether too willing to indulge in the arduous sport.The colored boys were a happy bunch and stated they were well pleased with their camp life. They were recruited from ranks of unemployed in the Pittsburgh and Philadelphia areas.
