A Two Months Vacation.Station Agent A. J. Arthur informs us that he expects to leave the forepart of next week for a two months vacation trip through the west, during which time he will visit a brother at Petaluma, California. Mr. Arthur has been pretty faithful during the past several years he has been agent for the Milwaukee Company here and is deserving of a lay-off if anyone is, lhe work here is very hard for one man, in fact there being work enough to keep two men busy all the time, judging from the amount of business carried on at this place. Just last Friday there were 85,000 pounds of way freight received. Of course this was a big day’s business, yet he tells us that there is more ireight receivedjand shipped from this point than any other point on thi3 branch, unless it is Strawberry Point. One good feature of the above shipment was most-ly goods to be delivered to our merchants and but very little from the cata- j logue houses. During the month of March the freight business received amounted to $1793 and the forwarding $782. Pell Hatch, the Edgewood Poultry and Egg Dealers, have shipped eight cars of produce from j this point during the past two weeks, j and this in conection with the product from the two creameries, Madison’s ' Ice Cream factory and others, makes it rather strenuous for the man whonrvist.
