Thompkins has had considerable exper|ence as an operator, being a, charter member of the Sum-flower Radio club of this district, the Official/Radio Men’s Service as-‘'sociatinn. American Radio Relay league, and the Kansas National Guard drain. For- the past three years he has handled the radio traf-. fic from Fort Riley for the National ' guard during their summer encamp-“itipik. there. A detachment from thecamp drove to Iola Tuesday eve-• ninu tn take Thompkins to assume •Ins duties as camp operator. In the : detachment were Joseph Jones, j: Lloyd Kline. Frank. Clemens, Godfrey Treece. and George Buford.
