Jones is in charge of the notification of the schools in New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania. It has been proposed, and will probably be carried out, to send one or two members of the Classical Department to lecture on the Greek ! Drama at the schools and colleges in the vicinity in order to arouse interest in the performances and to enable those who intend to come to understand and appreciate the performances more thoroughly. Applications, one each for both of the plays, have been printed and are being distributed. Reserved seats are $2.00 and $1.00, and applicants desiring seats together may obtain them by specifying the last on the application. Special blocks of seats ane being reserved for all of the classes.Barker Deserves PraiseToo much credit cannot be given Mr. Barker for the undertaking in which he has embarked, but it is only in accordance with the policy of an actor-man-ager who has never sacrificed his ideals for self aggrandizement and who has labored unceasingly to raise the artistic standard of the theatre. His appearance in America this last theatrical sea-son has been characterized as “the best thing that has happened in the history of the American Stage sinoe the foundation of the New Theatre.” In the mounting of his plays he has shown a taste which seems unerring, and whether or not one agrees with his theories and his methods of putting them into practice, there can be no question as to artistic ability.
