On last Friday night, the 2nd inst,. according to previous notice, the Concert and Supper camo off at GrangeHall, near Trinity, Ala. The crowdcommenced gathering early and soon the room was comlorUMy filled by tho people of Trinity and neighborhood, with a few from neighboring towns. The audience was highly entertained for an hour or more with do lightful music by the band, cot d-tin; ofProf. Witt, Dr. John Farley, Messrs Julius and Fred Black, and Missjosie and Master Sammio Black. “Moonlight on tho lake” wns pung very we 1by Misses Emma and Lizzie Shackc! fnrd. Next come n tableau scone, “Tho crowning of tho Queen of May.”Miss Jennie Throckmorton, the Queenwas crowned by Mr. Koberi Carv, as fdstcd bv tho Knights and Maids of 11 onor. When pupper was announced tbo crowd repaired to the diningroom where tho bountifuly laden table and the pretty and accomodating wai-ters, elicited the praise nod admiration of all. After supper, the gay throng agfiin assembled in Concert-room wbilo tho band discoursed exeeHent music. About 12 o'clock all bad departed feeling, no doubt, that it “was good to bo tkero.” Receipts of the evening, above oxponscs were I330.00.THE ric NIC.Quito a pleasant time was bad by all who were so fortunate ae to bo at the pic nio given at the (iiaago Hall, near Trinity, last. Saturday. The exercises conpisied in music by tho bond, songb by the school and an address by Kev. Jos. Schackolford. A collection ! for the benefit of tho Sunday school, to assist in purchasing on organ, was taken up and nearly 820 realized.Dinner was then announced and it is not nocessary to say that it wasduly appreciated and nmp!eju«tice giv-en to it. Upon the whole, tho goner-ally expressed opinion, was that Con-e*rt, Sapper and Pic Nio were very enjoyable affairs and will long be pleasantly romemberod. Spec.
