The quartet performed a selection of the compositions during a school matinee in March in the University of Iowa’s Hancher Auditorium.Students from North Central, Northwest and South East junior high schools in the Iowa City district and at West Branch Middle School created compositions with Hyperscoresoftware developed by Tod Machover, director of the MIT Media Lab.Their teachers were Cece Roudabush and Terri Finger in Iowa City and Jim Calkins and Chris Reed in West Branch.Student composers included: Kaitlyn Coffin (Southeast): “Flight of the Tropical Seabird”; Kinsey Koch (Northwest): “Untitled”: Shannon Laing (West Branch): “Lines of Horror”; Sam Mc-Cleran (North Central): “Let Off Some Steam”; and Kayla Wright (North Central): “The Wonderful I Don’t Know.nIowa Character AwardCHARACTER COUNTS! in Iowa invites you to celebrate lowans’ good character
