She has had a long and interesting career with the local sewing plant.Many changes have occurred through thcyears. In 1962 when Doris joined the company it was locally owned by Ralph Hodges and Harold Rich and was known as Checotah Manufacturing Company. After the death of Ralph Hodges tho company was purchased by White Stag Mfg. Co.Ladies and girls sportswear wore produced as well as a teen lino for a period of time. Later warm-ups andskiwear were added. After Warnaco purchased the plant Speedo water shorts wore added. In 1990 the plant was converted to yet another d ivision of Warnaco OLGA and started sewing Intimate apparel.Doris say9 9he has met so many people through the years and developed close friendships with a lot of the employees. One of the things she will miss most is being In a position to help people who have problems. Another thing that will be missing is the day to day contact with her fellow workers.
