This summer, the ('amp will run from July 18-29. with the 30th scheduled for cleanup and departure of out-of-town students.An exciting staff and curriculum promise that Camp ‘77 will offer an outstanding instructional experience to the students in the areas of dance, drama, literary arts, music and the visual arts. Classes, workshops and private instruction are offered and the students can enroll in more than one area. High School credit (one-half Carnegie unit) is offered in most school systems for students successfully completing camp A two-week residency bv the Oregon Mime Theatre will highlight the camp faculty. The three-member troupe, directed by Francisco Reynders, has toured internationally to wide acclaim with mime workshops, lecture-demonstrations. solo mime performances, and specialized classes in mime — an art form of non-verbal communication The Mime Theatre will le teaching MimeTechniques. Scene and Costume Design. Acting and Improvisation and Children’s Theatre and will offer Mime Workshops for adults and public performances for children and adults.SanSitton. nationally known guesconductor, performer ancomposer of choral music (andcollege music instructor); RicAsher, college instructor anconcert pianist, who hasconducted highly rated highsschool bands and orchestras foreight years and servedrepeatedly as an adjudicator forband, orchestra and pianocontests; David Earling, a brassspecialist also with extensiveexperience conducting andadjudicating concert and jazzbands, performing (trumpet) andcollege teaching; and RichardPort, Music Teacher in Wrangellschools and a cellist.Dance faculty are Tance Johnson, Director of Francisco Dancers Forum andsoloist and choreographer known nationally; and Delphine McDade, Artistic Director of Seahurst Ballet Company. Charles Lillard, widely published poet and writer and instructor in Creative Writing at Victoria College in British Columbia will teach Creative Writing and Poetry in the Literary Arts Area.In the Visual Arts, Turid Senungetuk, silversmith and artist trained in Norway, with many awards and exhibitions to her credit, will teach Jewelry making; Stephen McClelland, painter with a masters degree in art and nationwide exhibitions,, will teach painting; and Paula7 Dicker, well-known Alaskan fibre artist with junior high teaching experience will teach weaving.
