Home Show to be staged by San Antonin Home Builders* Association at Bexar County Coliseum for a week beginning Sunday.The Potvin exhibit, is a collection of scenes carved by the late Mulse Potvin, world famous French Canadian wood carver and violinmaker.This famed artist carved the exhibits by hand from 92 diifevem kinds of wood brought from all over the world. His work has been acclaimed by critics as “the most amazing examples of fine art produced in the past 50 years.”Poivin not only carved but animated the exhibit as well. In scenes where paintings appear, the artist copied in oils all the miniatures found in the exhibit.“Home Sweet Home.” a scene depicting the typical Victorian living room in all its splendor, is valued at $15,000 alone. This display took three years to complete.Another carving shows a blacksmith shop in operation. The “Stampede of the Texas Longhorns,” an Arizona scene, depicts 70 Texas steers in a mad stampede, complete with a cactus background and cowboys frantically trying to save the herd from disaster.The home show will be heid for eight days a*, the coliseum. This years show will feature a greater numl'er of furniture and interior decorating displays as well as the usual variety of the latest items in ail phases of home living — from building materials to ceramics and gift items ior the house, according to Carl Olson, show director.Highlight of the show wilt be presentation of a $750 cash award to the San Antonio high school boy whose scale model home is selected prize winner in the mode! home building contest, sponsored by the home builders' association for the show.Presentation of prizes in the con. test will be made opening day— .Sunday at 3 p.m. Gates at the show will open at 2 p.m. Sundav and close at It); 15 p.m..
