Mr. Johnston was printer in every seuwi of the word. Such a printer might bare been knighted by an Austrian Emperor, and. as inch, he would have deported him aid f with a* much gallantry, grace and a kill as any llayard that ever rode behind a banner. We say lie was a printer. He was more! He waa an artist: but, without artistic license! Among thegreat galaxy uf printer* who vied with each otherIn designing artistic work, Johnston was known as the •’Porltntt lit Typography. ” No better appellation could have bi'cu applied, and the one who coined the title deserved wa|! of hi* fellow* craftsmen.
