FM station4to go on air in JuneLORAIN - Harold E. Sens, vice president and general manager of radio station WLEC in Sandusky, yesterday announced a previously pro* posed FM radio station in Lorain would begin operation in June.Sens will leave his position in Sandusky in June to become general manager for the Lorain FM station, to be operated by the Lake Erie Broadcasting Co. Sens is president of the company.LAKE ERIE BROADCASTING was granted the right to establish the station last November when the Federal Communications Commission denied an appeal to a 1972 ruling granting Lake Erie's License filed by Lorain Community Broadcasting Co.. which operates Lorain radio station WLRO.Studios for the Lorain station will be in the Sheffield Shopping Center and a 280-foot tower is nearly complete at a site on Dunton Road. The new station. using the call letters WZLE. will broadcast in a 15-mile radius of the tower's site with 3.000 watts of power. j The station will operate at . 104.9 on the FM dial with a | format geared for “adults and' ( young adults,” Sens said.
