Governor Opens MarinDrive Saturday NightThe bi-partlsan victory dinner i The Mandarins, television stars offor Gov. Goodwin J. Knight at The Toast of the Town, the FrankBermuda Palms, San Rafael, Saturday night, will be the kick-off for an Intensive campaign in his behalf by the Marin County campaign committee, under the chairmanship of Helen M. Walton. She is assisted by James Kehoe and Dr. William Upton, joint chairmen of the Democrats for Knight Committee.Governor Knight's attendance at the meeting marks the first time in over 10 years that a governor of California has made a public dinner appearance in Marin County, He will make the principal address ofeveningKnight for Governor headquarters have been opened in San Rafael at 1539 Fourth street, and the various campaign committees are meeting there regularly to bring victory in the primary election for their candidate.In addition to the governor’s address Saturday night, a program of entertainment will be provided for the dinner meeting. Master of ceremonies is Russ Byrd, who has performed in that capacity for receptions for President and Mrs. Eisenhower and President Nixon and the Fox Theater premieres, featuring Jack Benny, Bob Hope, Unda Darnelland many others.Russ Byrd's orchestra will furnish the music. Other entertainment will be Bobby Chang andSinatra Show, The Liberace Show, the Rudy Vallee Show and the Dinah Shore Show.Tickets for the affair are available through Herbert K. Walton, Jr., or any member of the committee, One ticket is given for each$10 contribution to the campaignfund.
