POSTERS OF SCHOOL CHILDREN EVIDENCE OF LOYALTY SPIRIT!!Remarkable Display of Drawings on Exhibition at Children’s Department of Public Library,LARGE NUMBER IS SHOWNThat the youngsters of the public (schools are rear patriots and aro familiar with every activity in which | the United States government is en- j gaged, is shown by the remarkable display of war posters in the children’s department of the Public library. The display will be on exhibit , over Sunday fand the public is urj;edto visit the exhibit.Everywhere one looks are posters, one hundred and sixty-five of them, and is a most inspiring showing. It seems hardly credible that such remarkable work can be done by children. The color, blue, is to be found dominent in the color schemes a,s the pupils were limited to either black and white or four colors, one of them to be blue on the war saving* stamp posters already in use. Gardens are features on one side of. the room. Pumpkins, carrots, cabb.-.gefi and potatoes are seen on one poster, with advice to grow and eat; whea.t ?or ou” allies, corn, barley and potato es foi* ourselves. Then meatless clay '3 featured, showing a dog v f kn^ws “meatless day.” A youngster h. b!«’Coveralls using a garden plon is _admonished to “get force behind it.’* Wee girls are shown knitting, sewiig for Belgian refugees, and working in their war gardens. v “Over the Top, the“Liberty Bell,” and ammunition come in for their share. War stamps, substitutes, Red Cross, and battles scenes testify of the originality of the children. They all show the true meaning of patriotism today that carries an appeal direct to everyone. The display will be judged by a local committee, composed of Charles Keeler, Mrs. Charles Kucera and Grant Woods. The selected posters will be sent to the state and group committees will make further eliminations. They will then be sent to the national jury and the posters chosen will be used in furtherance of the various national campaigns. Much credit for the success of the poster exhibi: is given to Miss Emma Grattan, supervisor of art, who has worked untir-lngly - t. lt;1Fo*towing are a list of the pupi.s who 'lave entered the contest:Class “C, Grade Pupils.Lumii Havlik Angie Half hillG.
