THE MAY FESTIVAL AUCTION. -Opening; of the gale to Subscribers This , Morning in College Hall.This morning promptly at 10 o’clock, In College Hall, Mercantile Library Building, the place that has become historic in the Festival connection, will be begun the auction sale o,f seats for the Tenth Festival c\f the Biennial series. Nearly two thousand seats have been subscribed for, so that there will doubtless be a large attendance and much curiosity will be manifested tO| know the lucky winner of the first choice by competitive bidding. At the Festival when Music Hall was dedicated this hdnor went to tlie late Keuben Springer, who, If the writer remembers, paid $150 for the first seat sold in premium. It remains to be seen who will carry away the honor this morning. It is an honor, and fey a business man it is a rattling advertisement, the value of which can hardly be computed, for it travels hundreds of miles by the aid ot the press. The usual rules will govern the sale. No purchaser will be allowed to take more than ten seats on a single bid. The auction will last through to-mtyrow, beginning again at 10 o’clock.Music Hull Association Meeting.The annual meeting of the Music Hall Association stockbolders was held at the office of Henry C. Urner yesterday, and the report of the Secretary, showing a cash balance of $1.702 27, received.The Trustees effected the following organization: President, Robert Mitchell; Treasurer, Henry C. Urner; Secretary. J. F. Blackburn; FiuanceCommittee. 11. 'J. Urner, Htowart SnlllUo and W. C. Worthington. Home repairs were ordered in anticipation of the May Festival.
