Scrvmgour. of Fitzroy. who is helping the Mayoress of Henley and Grange (Mrs. Milton) and her committee to arrange the Indian float in the big centenary pageant, met her.Miss Addy gave Mrs. Scrymgour dll the details necessary to make the float a success. She described for her the costumes of the various characters who will take Dart in the float, and later visited Mrs. Mitton at the Grange If the costumes in the float are anywhere near as colorful as the embroidered blue-and-red embroidered sari that Miss Addy more this morning then it should be by far the gayest display in the pageantMiss Addy has had a most successful musical career. A musician heard her singing in a church choir In Calcutta some years ago and advised her to study. The result is that she has broadcast In London and Berlin and given concert* In Italy.At one of her London concerts Sir Henry Wood, the noted conductor, took part and Miss Addy scored a big success. She has also sung many times at India House. London. The singer is on her way to New Zealand for a radio tour and will probably be heard here later.No other native Indian woman has ever sung professionally in Europe. Miss Addy said this morning in her rich, deep speaking voice.
