Dr. Jeffers is district superin-CarpenterColumbia Grange was host to Rocksprings and Alfred Granges. Rocksprings officers conducted the opening and closing ceremonies and Alfred members presented the lecture program, which had an Easter theme, under the direction of their lecturer, Mrs. Grace Durst. Also visiting were the Athens County deputy and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Poston, Mrs. Bess Musser, former Meigs County deputy Matron, and Mrs. Melvin Radcliff. all from the Albany Grange. There were 62 in attendance. Refreshments were served by the host Grange.The Carpenter Baptist Busy Bees met at the home of Mrs. Robert Bishop. Mrs. Seth Huntley was program leader. A letter was read from a missionary serving with the Baptist Men’s Mission in Brazil. Present were Mrs. William Cheadle, Mrs. Dale Dye. Mrs. Seth Huntley, Mrs. Reed Jeffers, Mrs. Clay Jordan, Mrs. James Gaston and the hostess. Next meeting will be at the Huntley home in Vinton.Mrs. Faye Jordan accompanied her son, Mr. and Mrs. Dorsey Jordan and family, to Sunbury, where they attended the wedding of Sarah Irene Rutherford to Ronaldtendent, and he delivered the sermon to members of five churches in the Coolville Charge.The remodeling of the Coolville church was discuss ed, and appreciation expressed to Clyde White for his supervision of the project and for the cooperation of the community.Fred Friend has returned home after being a surgical patient in St. Joseph’s Hospital. Parkersburg.Mrs. Wilma Bailey has returned home after undergoing minor surgery at Camden Clark Hospital. ParkersburgMrs. Dora Lockhart has been visiting with Mr and Mrs. Richard Hicks, Charity and Faith of Pinellas Park. Fla.Mrs. Lola Gunder has been a patient in Camden-Clark Hospital after suffering a heart attack at her home.Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Parrish had as recent guests Mr and Mrs. A. H. Parrish, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Parrish, Ricky, Tommy and Mike, all of Parkersburg; Bob Parrish, Charleston. W. Va , and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Parrish and son of Akron.Mrs. Lula Brumbaugh. Akron, has been a guest of Mr. and Mrs. Earnest Cole.Mr. and Mrs. John Deeter had as weekend guests Mr and Mrs. Don Deeter and Mrs. Charles Gillilan. Johnny and Sue. all of Columbus.
