National Luther League DayWas Observed by SpecialMissiou to Neighboring Town for Program.mmmummmmmmmmmmmAs a special observance ot national Luther League Day, which was celebrated by groups over the entire nation yesterday, a delegation of members of the LutherLeague of the First Lutheran church of this city, motored to Kenyon last evening to present a special program at the Lutheran church of that place.Arrangements for the appearance of the local group at Kenyon were made by Mrs. Henry Borchgrevink, a former local resident, who is now the president of the Luther League in Kenyon. As special entertainment for the local people Mr. and Mrs. Borchgrevink were the host and hos*-sa at a buffet supper for them and members of the Kenyon organization preceding the evening’s program at the church.The following members from here motored over for the evening the Misses Hazle Jasperson. Frieda Bakken, Peggy Anderson, Mildred Larson, Ruth Esse, Claudia Sether, Harriet Mickelson, and Helen Billings, and Theodore Olson, Allan Morreim, Oscar Bjorlie, Lauritz Bjorlie, Bennett Opdahl, Laurin Kaasa, Gordon Egertson, Russell Sether, and Lester Olson.A very interesting and splendid program of music and talks were given as follows:Selections, Kenyon orchestra.Violin boIo, Lauritz Bjorlie, accompanied by Peggy Anderson.Boys’ Quartet, Lauritz Bjorlie, Laurin Kaasa, Gordon Egertson,Bennett Opdahl.Greetings, Allan Morreim (president, Albert Lea league).Song, “How Beautiful Upon the Mountain,” Claudia Sether, accompanied by Peggy Anderson.Piano solo, Helen Billings.Talk. “The Opportunity of Youth,” Ruth Esse.Selections, Boys’ quartet.The offering for the evening was presented to the National Lutherleague project.Following the program at the church the members of the two leagues were entertained again at the Borchgrevink home, where refreshments were servd, and a most delightful informal social hour of music was enjoyed, with an Impromptu program being held.
