STRANGE NOISES HEARD.Tramps Disturb the Residents of ProspectHill Near the Bluff. With the coming of warm weather the tramp question becomes more complicated. When the thermometer hovered in the vicinity of the aero mark these fellows sought the police station Where they were able to obtain lodging, but now as summer draws nigh, they sleep in the open air. Only one lonely tramp was registered there last night but there were others elsewhere.About 10 o’clock in the neighborhood of the Prospect hill bluff, queer noises were heard and the people living on Polk street and that part of the hill were startled by a racket that came from an unknown source to them. After closely investigating the matter it was found that a gang of probably twenty-flve tramps had assembled at that place and were indulging in a little hilarity. Popular songs were rendered by them and the night was made hideous for a short time Night Sergeant Lane, with a small posse, arrived onthe scene, an dthe hoboes fairly flew in all directions in order to escape, but they were Anally rounded up and were sent out of town early this morning.
