Local Sunday School In A 3-Way ContestiIn an attempt to cause people to become more “Sunday Schoolconscious,” and in order to aqunint more people with the value to be derived from regular Sundayschool attendance, the local Naxa-rene church is engaged in a Sunday school attendance contest with the First Church of the Nazarene. in Ottumwa and the Shenandoah Church cf the No/.a tone.The contest has now been running for one month. CharitonNazarenes averaged 154 per Sun-jday in Sunday school during the imouth ot March, but that was not jgood enough, for Ottumwa chalk-led up an average of 1(50. and Shenandoah, a church that hasi;been organized less than four years, averaged 150 each Sunday in March. Lyle Borger, former resident of Chariton, is superintendent of the Shenandoah Sunday school, and the Hew C. W. Grim, former pastor of tin* Chari-;ton Nazarene church, is pastor at Ottumwa First church. The enn-;lest continues through the month cf April, and the Chariton church extends a cordial invitation to residents of the city to attend the Nazarene Sunday school each Sunday in April. Attendance goal for April 3 is 205.
