Last Saturday was a memorable day at the home of Ben F. Garvin, of near Hanson. He had invited a number of his friends in to assist him in branding some cattle and to enjoy the hospitality of himself and his good .wife, Chief among the guests was- his life long friend, Winchester Miller and wife and their sons, James L. (accompanied by his family) and Frank. Others present were: Louis Amos, Jake Wright, JimMcCullough, and David Bradley and* * *family. That they had a good time goes without saying. Mr. Miller was selected as master of ceremonies and well did he perform his part. Mrs. Galvin had prepared a feast, having drawn heavily upon* the bountiful stores laid up by her chief, and this, withmany other evidences of old fashioned■Southern hospitality, made the occasion one long to be remembered. Two hundred calves were branded by the men folks' which evidences the fact that Mr. Garvin is someicattle man for this section.« - - *
