Medal For Service.Sixty-four employees of the Western Division of the Southern Railway Co. who have been in the service of the company for twenty-five year* or more, recieved from the hand of Fairfax Harrison, president of the company, at Louisville last Wednesday, handsome bronze medals inscribed ‘‘For Loyalty” and hearing the date of the beginning of their service.Mr. Harrison described the medal, showing how the views borne by it are symbolical of the railway service, and said the men who wear it have as much right to feel proud of their achievement in winning it as those who have won the Victoria Cross of the British Military service or the Iron Cross of Germany. He asked that each man wear it as long as he lived as an inspiration to the younger men and at his death leave it to some member of his family as a token that in life he had done his duty well.Among those who recieved medals we notice the names of several who are well known here, among them Robert Crawford, agent at Corydon Junction; V. E. Claycomb, agent at Jasper; H. B. Jones, Conductor, of Louisville; C. J. Murphy, roadmaster, of Louisville; William Newkirk, section foreman, Midway Kv.; F. G. Bushing, engineer, of New Albany; William Hanafee, engineer, of New Albany; J. B. Teaford, bridge surveyor, of Louiville; C. Tyre, section foreman, New Albany.
