Earl Sparkman Succumbs At 38Earl Sparkman, 38, 526 Baltimore St., Middletown, died at 8 p. m. Thursday in Middletown Hospital where he had b?en a patient for 10 weeks. He had been hospitalized several times in recent months but his death comes as a shock to his relatives and friends.■ He was born in Mildred. Ky , June 16, 1924, a son of Joseph and Lucy Ann Smith Sparkman. After graduation from high school in Mildred, Ky., he came to Hamilton and shortly afterward entered the service, serving in the U. S Army during World War II.He was wounded in action Jan. 5, 1945, in Luxemburg, Europe while a sergeant in the 104th Infantry Division. He received training at Fort Belvoir, Va., and Atlanta, Ga . prior to going overseas.Among his army medals were the Purple Heart, the Good Com-duct Medal, the Victory Medal and three bronze campaign med-
