Nelson, veteran employe of the Indian bureau, it was announced at the interior department late Wednesday. • •: .Dr. Nelson, who Is 56 years old, is now acting as medical chief. and superintendent of the Indian hospital at Ciaremore, Oklahoma.At Ciaremore Two Years,He has been afc Ciaremore forabout two years, going there from Rapid City, South Dakota.Before going to Rapid City, where he stayed for approximately a year, Dr, Nelson was for three years connected with the Crow agency in southern Montana. Before that, he held various other posts with the Indian bureau.Native of Iowa,Dr. Nelson, who is\a native of-Iowa, is “a skilled surgeon and a' fine hospital administrator,’*. it was declared at the office of the commissioner of Indian affairs.As superintendent of the Mcsqua-kie hospital Dr, Nelson will get a salary of $4,800 per year. This is a substantial increase over his previous salary, as he is now drawing only $3,700, officials said.
