MOTORISTS UNHURTTrain Strikes StalledCar; T wo KilledrOne Hurt*The fireman and engineer of a Chicago Eastern Illinois railroad’s mail and express train were killed and another crew member was injured at 11:05 Sunday night when it hit a stalled automobile at the Maria St. crossing in Thornton.A moment before the crash, Mr.and Mrs. G. Veenstra of South Holland leaped out of their stalled car. They were uninjured.The train carried the car a block. There were no passengers on the train. Victor Baldwin of Danville, the fireman, was killed when three of the train’s four cars were derailed and the locomotive turned over on its side.Nazareth SongBurns Prove FatalThe engineer, Solon Warner, 60, also of Danville, was found lying on the right of way, where he hadleaped or had been hurled from his cab. He was taken to St. James hospital in Chicago Heights where he died Monday of burns. Injured was F. J. Faris of Vincennes, Ind., a Railway Express clerk.The wreck tied up the C.
