Thoreau's sweet dreamsByron Smith, a senior at Van Horn High School, plays Henry David Thoreau, a man described as a naturalist and individualist who lived during the 1800s. Smith (kneeling) rehearses a scene from The Night Thoreau Spent in Jail, where Thoreau dreams a former pupil, Edward, (played by Mike Sherman, a sophomore), iskilled in the Mexican-American War. The Van Horn students will be performing at 7:30 p.m. Friday and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Roger T. Sermon Community Center, Noland and Truman Roads. Tickets are $2.50, and $2 for groups of more than 10 and senior citizens.
