Petersburg Funds ArtsCamp Here•»Action taken by the Petersburg School Board at its meeting March resulted in $300 in fun ding for the programs of the Regional Fine Arts Camp Petersburg's $300 will be matched by $300 from the Municipal Challenge Grant program of the Alaska State Council on the Arts and will allow the Regional Council to keep enrollment fees at a reasonable level.In action taken that same evening, the Petersburg Emblem Club awarded $200 to the campJan Craddick. Executive Director of the Council, was in Petersburg for the meetings and showed slides of last summer’s camp activities to the two groups. Upon receiving news of the grants, she expressed the appreciation of the Regional Council and said. “The Regional Fine Arts Camp is the most important program of the Council, and we are delighted with Petersburg’s support. Several fine young people from Petersburg have been at the camp in past years. We hope for even more this year.”Camp brochures have been distributed through the region. In Sitka, they are available at the 1 Sitka Community College. The deadline for camp applications is April 30.
