Ramblinby Gross EdIn talking to Phil Langford, Student Association Activities Vice President, he said that the final concert of this semester is now being booked. Under contract at this moment is Albert King, with negotiations proceeding for Southwind and also the J. Geils Band. Crow was under contract but cancelled to get more money in Dallas. Now that warm weather is approaching, this concert is scheduled to be held in Kidd Field and because of the success of last summer's free outdoor concerts, this one will be free to students and the public as well. Albert King played in Kidd Field last summer and kept the crowd standing for two hours. Southwind lead the last Canned Heat concert with a surprisingly good set. J. Geils,if booked, should do a job on your head. These three groups could cancel or change anytime but at the moment, these groups appear likely. This is still a month away so I hope it gets warmer and a lot less windy. The concert is April 24, since I didn't mention that yet. And in closing, Phil has also said he is attemptig to get Hot Tuna for the same date. I hope so.Car rally slated SundayI he UT El Paso Press Club will sponsor a car rally Saturday at I PM in the Sun Bowl parking lot awarded to the first three finishers.Entry fee for the event is $1.50.
