Music Fest For Junior Club MembersThe Wisconsin Federation of Music Clubs' Junior Festival for this area will be held in Stevens Point Saturday, March 27. The local federated Twilight Music Club will be hostess group.The day’s program for the Junior musicians will be held at the Washington School and will begin at 9:30 a.m. It will continue until all the entries have been heard by the judges.Registered for the event are 67 entries from the federated clubs of the area. These include two in Stevens Point and two in Marshfield. The Stevens Point clubs are the Junior Keyboard and the Living Keys. The Marshfield clubs are the Iva Bigelow Weaver and the Beethoven Juniors.Although the festival is open to all junior club - affiliated students of music, only those participating in the vocal and pieno divisions are registered.The top scoring young musicians will receive superior ratings. Of the state superior rated students, five to seven are picked each year for a summer scholarship to Interlochen Music Camp in Michigan. A National Honor Certificate will go to each entrant in a solo event who receives the top rating.To be eligible to enter the festival, a student must be under 19 years of age on March 1 and must be affiliated with a federated active junior club.Mrs. William. Cook of the hostess club is chairman for the event with Misses Barbara Van Hecke and Susan Colman as co-chairmen. They are assisted by other members of the Twilight Club.
