The projected enrollment of 89 in the third grade at Hillcrest should justify the employment of 4 teachers instead of 3. Five teachers to handle grades 1,2 3 at Camden will not work unless one teacher is going to be assigned a very large class or else split level assignments will have to be employed. Either way will not be in the best interests of the students or the classroom teachers. The Association recommends against the cuts at Hillcrest and Camden.Under the plan proposed by the administration, 5 leaves are to be fitted by 5 teachers employed on temporary contracts. Each of these teachers should be notified of your intent to employ them for next year as soon as it is known that there is a position available. If further resignations take place, the RIF'd teachers should be placed on regular contracts in the reverse order of their layoff’s (the most senior teacher would get the first regularcontract.)The Association wishes to protest - and make it a part of the record -the form letter sent to each of the RIF'd teachers. The letter had the effect of asking the Ril ’d teachersto make a decision affecting their legal rights within one day. TheThe resignations of W. R. Brown and Micbnol Carnpoic were accepted. • •During the evening the superintendent pointed out that utility payments for February to Northern Indiana Public Service Company and Public Service Indiana totaled nearly $33,(XX).The leave of absence of Evy Engle was extended from December until the end of the 1982-83 school year.Letha Isaacs was named to a 4-year term as a member of the Delphi Library Board.At an earlier meeting approval was given for the high school band to participate in the Kentucky Derby Festival Parade at Louisville onApril 29-30.At that meeting a GED Achievement Test Certificate, high school level, was signed for Daniel A.Mvers II.%It was annouced Monday night that Open House of the new Vo-Agfacility will be held from 2 until 5••Sunday, April 4.The next board meeting will be at7:30 on April 12.Solicitation policyAdopted as the policy lor commercial advertising, announcements and solicitations by non-school organizations is:Article I - Solicitation of advertising or use of the school corporation to promote the merit of any producttionable printing or pictures appear on them. Nothing herein shall be construed to prevent advertising in the student publications, (papers, yearbooks, etc.) which are published by student organizations.Article III - Solicitations upon school property by any non-school organization are discouraged by the Board and may be made only upon the approval of the Principal and the Superintendent.Article IV - Many agencies that are dependent upon public subscription have an important contribution to make toward better community living.
