The floor plan is in the form of a cross, with the nave and chancel forming the upi ightarm and the transepts forming the shorter cross arms. Early Colonial details are most pronounced in the sanctuary, reflecting early Americans’ desire for plainness without severity. The choir stalls in the chancel are divided, as in earlier churches, while the pews are paneled similar to those found in a New York City church more than 100 years ago. Modern foamrubber cushions have been installed.Red seat covers and the red dorsal cloth in the chance! arc? both symbolic of the Diety. Large windows in the sanctuary are of dear glass rather than stained, in keeping withAmerica’s earliest churches. The interior of the sanctuary is in white and light buff color. Brass chandeliers contain large sprays of electric candles, A three-manual MocWer organ has been installed with both chimes and hells which may la? played from the organ and their music directed either inside or outside the church.gWMMMSlMMMilestones Of IVesbvterians Here.
