James Adam*.SEVEN CLUBSWar* R*pr***nt*d by President* atWoman’* Club MeetingFriday afternoon wa* the annualpresident*' day of the West Concord Woman’s club, and as usual It proved to be a decidedly successful affair. The feature of the afternoon was a dramatic reading by MIsb Erdine Cow-llshaw, who has appeared before the club several times in the past. She read from Bernard Shaw's Man of Superman, and made a distinctly fa-vorabe impression upon her audience by her dramatic ability. Mrs. Benjamin Derby, accompanied by Mrs. Walter 8. Leland, sang a group of songs that were received with much favor anMrs. Charles E. Brown rendered piano selections that were very pleasing.The attendance at the meeting wa* particularly large. In addition to the local members present there were also seven clubs represented by their presidents, including Concord, Maynard, Sudbury, West Acton, Hudson, Groton and Greenville, N. H. During the course of the afternoon Mrs. Derby called upon each of them for remarks ind all responded most happily. AllI In all it was a very pleasant and a very helpful meeting.Following the regular program refreshments were served in the ban-luet hall. The decorations were most appropriate to the day and gave a decidedly charming effect. The meeting was in charge of the social service committee, which is composed of Ifrs. Clara Leighton chairman, Mrs. Florence Pillings, Mrs. Harriet E. Shepard, Mrs. Anna E. Hall and Mrs. Kath erine Logan.The next meeting of the club will take place Apr. 7, and will be children's day. A most attractive program has been arranged for the young-JterS, the chief attraction being F. O. Harrell, the musical magician.
