♦ Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society wi 11, provide 400-ton locomotive for 16th annual festivalBy DAVE KITCHELLPharos-Tribure Associate Editor' iLogansport’s Iron Horse Festival is going back to its roots to land a steam train — and in a big way.Representatives of toe Iron Horse Festival Board of Governors Tuesday said they have reached an agreement with the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society for use of a CO steam engine at the 16th annual festival July 19-21.Although no contract has been signed, ticket prices have been set _ at $6 for all riders. Hie board hopes to sell 5,000 tickets which allow the festival to break even oh the excursions.» iRosalie Arnold, the board’s president, and Mike Fincher, a board member and former festival chairman, said securing a steam train for the festival has been an important goal for the board this year,“We did this because we felt if we didn’t continue to have a steam train, the Iron Horse Festival would be just another festival ” Arnold said. “Too many people have this in their blood. They’ve worked years for this festival and they don’t want to give it up.”
